I have an iMac Power PC 750(33.11) G3thats 600MHz and 256MB of RAM that is running OS 10.3.9...I got this from a flea market for $30.00 bucks and I wanna use it for music applications...Problem is I have to be running at least 10.4.1 for any of them to work and it will not let me upgrade doing the Software Update on the system. 10.3.9 is as far as it will let me go. Now, is it possible to run 10.4.1 on this iMac or am I just wasting my time? I would hate to get rid of it and I'm not savvy enough to use it as a server or anything like that, but I just would hate to see it go to waste. Can anybody help me with this. Thanks in advance....

Because you have a faster G3, it should run Tiger 10.4 nicely. Just upgrade its ram to 1Gb (easy to do) and you'll be set. Just make sure you get the black retail disc. Not the gray system reinstall discs or the upgrade discs.

10.4 is possible, but you need to purchase it. Either try eBay or Craigslist, but look for the RETAIL version of Tiger and avoid model specific grey RESTORE disks.
