Hi, I', not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum but I was wondering if somebody could help me.

I'm not sure what software upgrade I need next, Lion or Mountain Lion?
    I'm currently running on os x v 10.5.8.

If any one could shed some light on what I need to know it'd be appreciated!
    Thanks:)

Lion is no longer offered for sale. If you want to upgrade to ML, you first have to upgrade to Snow Leopard (and update to at least 10.6.6) so you can access the Mac App Store, where you can download ML.

This, of course, assumes your Mac model can run ML.

System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum OS supported, by visiting EveryMac.com. You can find your specific model by entering your serial number here.

It is. You can call 1800MYAPPLE and for $19.99 they will give you a code that can be used in the App Store to purchase Lion.

You are running Leopard. You'll have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first so you can get to the Mac App Store.
