iPod touch Sold my Iphone

Hi

I sold my iphone 4s yesterday and I miss the IOS. I still own an ipad but it is not like the iphone. I am thinking about getting an ipod touch and I have some question. I know it is not fast like the 4s but is it life-able or should I wait for the 5th generation? How is the sound quality in the ipod touch?
