The Apple stores in Charlotte and Durham have zero iPads. Of any kind. None at Best Buy either. Even the Apple online store shows a 7-10 day wait before shipping.

I got on the wait list for 32G 3G Monday after launch. I got it the following tuesday week (8 days). At Southpoint Apple store.

go to your local store and have them put you on the wait list...I did this at both Crabtree Valley Mall and SouthPoint stores and received my 3g unit in 5 days...
