My first iPad was the notorious iPad 3. I finally upgraded it to an iPad Air 2 today - HUGE difference. So happy with the purchase.

Anyway, wanted to share a sweet deal I got with anyone else interested in upgrading. Staples has the iPad Air 2 - WiFi - 64GB - Space Gray on sale for $499. Combined with 10% Discover Apple Pay cash back this iPad is only costing me $450 instead of $600. $150 savings isn't too bad.

Hopefully someone else out there in MR land can make use of this deal!

Does Staples have a trade in program for credit? Could have snagged an extra discount and discarded your now obsolete iPad 3. If not there's always the family-hand-me-down program. Ha, enjoy your new device.

No problem! I was so excited about this bargain but the didn't care to hear anything about it so figured I'd share with MR land. I was going to hold off on the iPad a bit longer but between the lack of an Air 3 announcement, this awesome cash back deal, and the fact that my iPad has sucked since iOS 7, I decided to bite the bullet. It's like night and day. The Air 2 is an amazing device. Only wish the OS was a little more developed but the split screen is a step in the right direction.

Absolutely. It's on up to $10,000 through the end of the year. Staples even has a rewards program that will give you up to 5% back. I think it starts at 2% when you first sign up though so I didn't bother with it. Would've been nice to have another 5% back though. Christmas shopping will be huge.

I didn't ask about a trade in. The old family hand me down was my plan. My could make far better use of it then the $100 I'd get selling it privately. That thing has been a horrid since iOS 7. I actually stopped using it because it took so long to actually do anything on it.

I wonder if there will be better deals closer to Christmas, although $499.00 is pretty low, even a refurbished Air 2 on Apples site for 64GB is $509.00 why buy refurb when you can get brand new for even less sounds like a win to me.

The Discover cash back deal is through the end of 2015 but the Staples sale I'm not sure when that ends. I did some shopping around. Target looked to have the next best price at $524 for the same iPad which also isn't a bad deal.

Not bad at all. I was kind of surprised that these box retailers can offer a $75 - $100 discount. I wouldn't think they have that much of a margin on these iPads in the first place but they must.

Pretty good. Saw this deal this morning and almost did it but staples apparently doesn't stock 128 GB models in store, so I went to Target instead - $30 more than if I ordered online and waited but essentialy same $100 off since I don't have Discover but have 5% red card discount.

Ended up with ipad air 2 128 GB wifi at target today, 10% off of $699. It had a slightly scratched box and shrink wrap was torn. Guy gave me 10% off for that (really?!) and 5% red card got me to $537. Sweet.

Awesome catch! Can't believe they're priced that low. I'll have to swing back over today and see if they can get me that price. That combined with Discover cash back would get the price down to about $400. Amazing deal.

Thanks for starting this thread I saw it yesterday but didn't get down there and when I went online today the deal was even better than yesterday. There out of stock at my store but ordered to have it shipped to my store should take a few days, I feel better picking it up myself instead of it being thrown around a ups truck all day long and I don't have to worry about it being left outside.

I have an iPad mini 2 that I use a lot around the house and on the go and considered waiting for the iPad pro but at $800.00 and feel it might be a bit too big around the house and I'm only using it for surfing the web and watching media, so the Pro I'd consider in a few years.

I'm really excited about the iPad Air 2 for the Touch ID (which I've never experienced) I have an iPhone 5 no touch id and my iPad mini 2 doesn't have touch ID either. I'm also excited about it having 2 GB ram and the laminated display with anti glare properties on top of that this is an excellent price for a 64GB.

Oh, the first thing I'm gonna do is upgrade it to iOS9, I've been really happy with iOS9 on my iPad Mini 2 and iPhone 5. Can't wait, Christmas comes early!!
