Don't get me wrong, I love the approach of Apple to switch to the taptic home button but these past few days, I would encounter the home button not registering my press. The area will vibrate (to register my input) but will not do what is expected software-wise like going to the home screen or opening up the multi tasking view. I needed to hard restart the phone to get back the use of the home button.

Anyone else encounter the same problem from time to time?

This issue has been becoming more common day by day .....theres another thread discussing it somewhere

Are you running 10.0.2?

I've had my 7 Plus since two days after launch and it's been top notch, no issues.

Yeah. I think this is a software issue. Will wait for the next update to see if it can be fixed. There seems to be a disconnect between the taptic engine and the software. Felt like it had a mind of its own by vibrating but not sending the command to the OS.

Have you tried restoring the iPhone, but this time setting it up as a new phone. I know it sucks, but I bet that will fix it. Plus if you take it to Apple they will ask if you did it anyway...

Yeah, it'll suck. I have backed up data that i dont like bidding goodbye to. Will wait for a software update before taking it in.
