I watched the presentation yesterday and went immediately to order. I currently have a Series 3 with Sport Band. I thought the Solo Loop even in silicon would be a popular choice but it seems that it's not based on the posts of orders placed. What's not to like about the Solo Loop?

The only thing that would make me hesitate on both the Solo Loop and the Braided version would be resale.

Currently I seem to be upgrading the Apple Watch every year so resale is important to me.

With these bands coming in so many different sizes, this may make it more difficult for me to sell the Watch and/or may reduce the price accordingly.

Perhaps this is playing into other people”s thoughts as well?

I’m concerned with expansion and contraction during the day with normal body changes. ie fluid intake etc.

I like the look of the Braided Solo Loop better and I suspect it will be more comfortable in my hot climate (one of the reasons I prefer the Sport Loop to the Sport Band). In any event I ordered the braided band in Atlantic Blue and I'll get it Friday!

My own thought on the loops is that I wouldn't rely on a paper template to assess my size and I'm happy to wait until I can try it in person, likewise I live in a very hot climate and want to be 100% sure that the fit and feel is right, I also want to see how the feel of taking it on and off feels.

The other part for me is that in the UAE market we don't get to custom choose the band with the AW so having the loop would mean an extra purchase so I want to make sure its right.

Tell her you're measuring her wrist for a diamond bracelet.

I'm sure she'll be quite surprised when she gets the braided watch band instead. :D

Now I'm the kind of wife, that would actually be happier with the braided watch band vs the diamond bracelet!! I'd say my hubby loves me for that, but some of the tech stuff can be more expensive anyway... :)

I first went for a solo loop yesterday, but noticed a) you had to size it and in the rush I wasn't going to take the time at that moment and b) all solo loops added to the time which makes sense, if you need to size it.. inventory management is high and will add to the time. I am suggesting population bias in your sampling of what's popular and what's not.. many people (not all) posting here as early adopters/orderers are going to be biased to what they know for expediency. Time will tell. Pun intended.

Yeah I wanted to try one of the new kinds of bands but I didn’t feel like trying to measure and pick the right size. I wasn’t sure how much demand there was going to be vs. Covid era supplies, so I went with something quick and easy as well as tried and true and got a black Velcro band or whatever they’re called. I got a Nike black aluminum sport this time around. Gold stainless just didn’t work out so well for me.

My thoughts exactly. I want to actually try it. Also, living in Denver temps here range fro -15F to 105F throughout the year. I often wear my watch tighter in the winter. This is why I would lean toward the braided loop overall, as the fabric bands (woven nylon and sport loop) are more comfortable when they are worn tighter.

I'm assuming they'll be quite a bit of stretch in the Solo Loop, because it has to stretch enough to fit over the hand in the first place. That's probably why Apple recommends going smaller if you're in-between sizes.

The problem I have with the ones that have a size, is sometime I like to run my watch a little looser and sometimes I like to have it tight. And having a band thats a specific size would take away from that.

I picked the solo loop in black, but this is my 3rd watch (S0 and S3) and I have bands from those watches, including a sport loop that I really like and plan to use. I am hoping the solo loop is easy to put on and off and works well in the water. It would not be my choice for a first watch though (the originals are still really nice).

By the time I was ordering, picking a braided loop pushed the delivery time out to the end of Oct, and I decided to get the silicon now and if I really love the concept of the loop, think about ordering the braided one later. The braid is only $50+ extra if you order it with the watch (and $100 if bought separately).

I’d be worried about them stretching out over time. I also don’t always wear my watch at exactly the same tightness, so I think these are a no-go for me, even though I like the look.
