Battery improved.

Returning though too similar to solo2 even with w1 chip imo. Sound quality seems nearly if not exactly the same.

Would rather save the cash for in ear wireless or something.

Still great headphones and if you didn't have solo2 they're really good

When you mention that they're still very similar to the Solo 2's even with the W1 chip, does that mean that you've found the pairing to be just as fiddly as traditional Bluetooth? I switch my Solo 2's between devices several times a day, so if that process has been improved at all, that would be really interesting to me...I've read conflicting reports though about just how much easier the W1 actually makes the pairing process. It seems like some people haven't seen much improvement, so I'd be really interested to hear your take on that aspect! :)

Pairing may be faster than solo2 but my iPad is still on 9.3.3 jail broken so disqualified for now, no need to pair with watch, and found no ease of use improvement from 2 to 3 on rMB with macOS Sierra :/ most disappointed maybe that will be addressed in software update but.

Only saw that cool pop up sync window on iPhone 7 when initially pairing

Ymmv

Also this is entirely preference and I think glossy black looks good but I think I'd get tired and bored of it. The blue on my solo2 just looks.. unique. Funky in a way I would never get these type of headphones but it works

Ah okay, that's all good to know. Thanks @thadoggfather! Hopefully it'll get easier with time.

yep sure!

i'd say give it a try if tempted, but for me, I would rather save the cash for something else. glad to have gotten decent 6s plus resell earlier this week and on the 7 bandwagon, should keep riding with that :) and using solo2 a lot, they impress me for having had them a year i believe

and a photo of solo2 blue, just for fun (build quality/physical design is identical to solo3)

I think I'm torn here too. They're so expensive, doesn't seem cost effective to rebuy them for what is basically a battery life improvement. The W1 pairing functionality seems amazing, however.

I tried these out and they sound exactly like the Solo 2s to me. They're essentially the Solo 2s with much better battery life and an easier pairing process. As amazing as that battery life is, I can't justify the cost (especially because the QC35, which I own, do so much more for $100 or so more)

Picked em up today in Mall of Florida. Sound is loud and clear. Haven't played more than 5 songs so can't say how great they are yet.

The iCloud thing is working for my phone and watch. iPad was updated today to iOS 10.0.2 and the headphones do not show up there. Maybe the sync takes a while..

Edit: there we go, headphones showed up after a few minutes. I'm blaming the slow wifi at the hotel.

Received solo 2s as a gift recently. I'm wondering if it's worth it to exchange them and pay the difference (~$100) for the 3s?

That's still 50 percent more than going rate. Solo3 seems nice but like a stop gap

If it's only $100 more I wouldn't hesitate for automatic pairing and much better battery life but that's just me.

Bought them the day they came out. Apple's W1 tech is INCREDIBLE! 300 feet apart and they still worked, I was blown away. Sound is clear and reliable while pairing is instant.

Downside is the sound quality doesn't meet my lofty bar. Hence, I unfortunately returned them but I am going to get the Airpods because half the price of the Beats to support the W1 tech makes sense to me. Apple hit it OUT OF THE PARK!

I have given them a good three hours of different music now. They are great for my taste. Haven't heard any earlier Beats so can't give a comparison. Played opera, rock, hardstyle, hiphop and hits top 50. Everything was with extreme quality on Spotify. I did hear some static on one or two tracks but I belive its bad mastering of the tracks.

I'm interested in getting a pair but I'm really concerned if sound leakage is still as big a problem for Beats as I remember. Could anyone share their experiences?
