I'm running Monterey and there's no fix for this.
Google Drive icon keeps disappearing because the notch in mbp 14".

Is it same thing in Ventura?
If it is, I'll skip that os version alltogether...

This has been a problem for years if you have a lot of menu bar icons. Some are likely to be pushed off screen. The notch just made the problem more likely. The solution has been to use Bartender to manage those icons. You will probably find that many of them don't need to be visible all the time. Bartender lets you move those off to a secondary panel that display either when you click on an icon or on mouseover. I have used it for several years even though my laptops come from the pre-notch time.

Bartender is not free but it is cheap (US$16) and good. If you don't like paying for software, there are free alternatives out there. I do like to support developers who produce good products but your situation may be different.

Everyone is recommending bartender but lately I've seen a lot of people saying its become a resource hog.

Hidden Bar is free and operates largely the same, maybe worth a try before shelling out for Bartender.

Ultimately, I just ended up removing some lesser-used icons from the menu bar (BT, WiFi, Sound, Airplay) and now access them from the Control Center.

never experienced that here with bartender. where have you read that? (just curious). 'hidden bar' worked well for me previously, but would not give up the more-extensive options and regular updates of bartender for it.

still.. free is free...

I just checked Activity Monitor. Bartender is currently using 41MB of RAM and 0.1% CPU. That doesn't seem very hoggish.

Reddit, Discord, some other forums. To reiterate, these are things I've heard recently, not things I've experienced.

I'm just sharing what I've heard. I don't use Bartender or any Bartender-style apps. It may have been fixed in an update or something, or maybe it was just a freak bug that only a handful of people experienced.

if it's on reddit or dischord, it must be true. 🤔

just a good habit to explain where you've 'heard' things, so we have context. anyway, seeing the same numbers as @Tagbert here...

I did check my work MBP which has about twice the number of icons, and the RAM usage got all the way up to 64MB of RAM! 😊

Meanwhile, Slack is 550MB

my M2 air shows the same numbers as your previous post (0.1/41). my intel imac shows 0.1/21.8.

i think a class-action lawsuit is needed at this point (and then, 100 class-action lawsuits for slack...) 🤣

Someone's cranky today.

By your logic, I should also assume what you and Tagbert are saying is untrue then, since MacRumors posts are really no different to Reddit and Discord posts in reliability.

it's ok that you're cranky 😉

was simply suggesting that details are important, and 'i saw on reddit' is more useful than 'i heard somewhere that'. but this is just my opinion, of course, and no one has to do what i say ☺️

Do you use Siri on your Mac? If not there is an option to not show it in the menu bar.
I use it rarely.
So I'd like to put it in a place, where I can reach it easily, like Control Centre.

But I guess Apple has decided for me, which apps should or can be in Control Centre.
And that's why in SysPrefs->D&Mbar, there is a section "Menu Bar Only" and Siri is there.
