So yesterday I decided I had to upgrade my mobileMe to iCloud because iOS 5 doesn't support
mobileMe and I used to sync my calendar and Contacts with my Mac Pro, Macbook Pro and IPhone.

I ran into a couple of problems, after googgling around and going trough forum posts I found that a lot
of people had the same issues but I didn't find a solution, most solutions we're to not use iCloud.

In this post I want to give the solutions to get iCloud working on Mac OS lion and iOS 5.

Issues With Mac Os Lion
After I upgraded my mobileMe to iCloud. I couldn't sign into iCloud in my "system preferences" on my Mac.
You have to manually logout of "mobileMe" in the "system preferences" --> "MobileMe" and poof, now you
can login in iCloud (system preferences --> I=iCloud) (this worked for me anyway)

Issues With iOS 5
When I configured iCloud on my iPhone 4s using "settings" --> "iCloud" my calendar and
my contacts didn't sync.
When I went to "settings" --> "Mail, Contacts, Calander" I found out there was still an account
used for mobile me. I went in and got a message saying the password was invalid. I set the password. And my calendar and contact worked.

A couple of hours later I had duplicate contacts and Calander Items. Somehow there is a delay and
because of the old MobileMe settings somehow sticking around in the "settings" --> "Mail, Contacts, Calander". You get duplicates.

The solution is to delete the old mobileMe account under "settings" -->"Mail, Contacts, Calander. When you delete this account the iPhone will ask you if you "want to keep the data" or "delete it from phone". Delete the data and your duplicate problem will be fixed.

I hope this post helps. It took my half of my free sunday and a lot of irritation to find this out. So I hope I can spare someone the stress of the thought of your data being all screwed up 😉
