Hi Everyone,
I'm new to MacRumors, but so far I love it. Especially the iphone section
So anyways, I currently have an iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 jailbroken and unlocked. I don't know what was used to jailbreak it, because when i bought it, it was already jailbroken. It is untethered jailbreak, so i assume that it is the old bootrom.
Right now, I want to upgrade it to 4.0.1. But, I want to keep all my apps and cydia apps. Apparently, iTunes can help with backing up regular apps and contacts and etc. But for cydia apps, I heard that i can use AptBackup, PkgBackup, or RockApp?
For the jailbreak, supposely i can use redsn0w to modify the ipsw of the 3gs ios4.0.1 so that when i use itunes restore, i restore it to a jailbroken firmware
I also want to keep my unlock, but ultrasn0w already supports 4.0.1 so that should be ok, right?
I also heard that I need to unhide all apps and turn off some stuff like categories, lockinfo, and backgrounder. Am I correct?
I just want to make sure that I have all my stuff after the update.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP
