[solved - kind of]Why does my Email App keep opening up?

Hi - i have allways had great support from here, so, lets hope this time too.
It's not a big deal realy, but why does my Email app (Version 13.0 (3601.0.10)) keep opening up when i click on certain other apps??
Like i said, it's no big deal, but annoying - and there must be a reason?
Could it be Firefox, Youtube??

My experience: Assuming Mail is running but minimised, it opens up whenever Mail has the slightest problem connecting to a mail server. Usually this is a transient problem and is fixed immediately. I too find it annoying.

Yes, thank you - i think that might be the problem.
My Email app is running dormant in the BG - but it kind of "opens up again" in full window view.
Lets just accept this as.... a problem, but not a problem - lol!

There is a workaround… I use my Gmail account just for E-mail, and have it set to IMAP. Set up an app specific E-mail password for your Google account via myaccount.google.com/security (you will have to have two-factor authentication enabled). Delete your Gmail account from your System...

I can affirm that this solution is correct, I have not had a pop-up mail window since. The problem seems to have something to do with setting up gmail in the system preferences/internet accounts using Google.
