[SOLVED] open file from an 'unidentified developer'?

this seems no longer possible. i have i file i absolutely want to open. i can control-click it, but i get this warning, and there no longer seems to be a place in allow it to open in security & privacy.

anyone? any other way to open this?

Try right click and press open. If that does not work then that file is corrupted.

Gatekeeper can still be bypassed when right clicking and pressing open in Ventura as I can open files from unidentified devs.

right-clicking leads me to that error. will check with the sender, but pretty-sure this is something i want to open. just thought i'd get that option in securty & privacy (as in monterey), but nope.

If you are sure that the installer is safe, I would upload it to https://www.virustotal.com/, you can repack it to remove the signature:

pkgutil --expand ~/Downloads/installer\ Mac.pkg ~/Downloads/installer_temp
pkgutil --flatten ~/Downloads/installer_temp ~/Downloads/installer-mac-repack.pkg

The issue is that the package is signed, but the signature is invalid, that means it's corrupted or has been modified after being signed. I wouldn't open it.
