Hello,
Seems like there's a lot of interesting video card discussions going on at the moment!

I have one to contribute, or rather that I need assistance with.

It's a PCI Radeon 9200LE Mac Edition with 128mb Vram. If I'm not mistaken, this must be the very best possible Radeon card you can put in a PCI Mac. In this instance, I'm installing it into a G3 B&W.

It works perfectly in Mac OS X, with no drivers or anything. But in Mac OS 9.2.2, I can't get it to work. The system seems to boot up fine, and then I get onto the desktop, and all I can do is control the mouse cursor, but I can't click on anything and keyboard is disabled.

Anyone know a solution? I know people get Mac Minis to boot OS 9, and they have Radeon 9200s (though only 64mb vram); I assume some hackery is involved, which I'm not interested in delving into, but would like to know the solution.

Note: according to those on MacOS9Lives, the card was a special PCI option for XServe G5s... OS 9 never intended for those.

Ok, to my own disbelief, I solved it, and it wasn't hard either.

Just downloaded and burned the ATI Radeon 9200 driver CD from Macintosh Garden, and installed the drivers. My Card had Rom 127 already, and it just worked. OS 9.2.2 done! Apparently the card also works in earlier 9.x and 8.x, so long as the drivers are installed using 9.2.2 and then transferred over.

I don't know if I have 2D graphics accel or anything, though.

The SE likely has a device ID not in the drivers for OS 9, so you are going to have to delve into the hackery if you want OS 9 support. I think someone uploaded the drivers hacked for the SE to the Garden or Repository.
