I picked up APP3 a couple months ago from Costco and have had zero issues with them. I normally use them in transparent mode but haven’t had any issues with them in either mode. Did the hearing test which made them sound even better.
Awesome 👏 that sounds promising for the brand new pair I have. But I got those back in January. Can you confirm what timeframe you bought and what firmware you’re on?

Bought them late January and they are currently on firmware 8B39. I’ve used them for Teams on my work PC, gaming on my Switch 2, listening to music on my phone and watching videos on my iPad and AVP. Zero issues for me.

Let me know your experience. Have a brand new pair in the box that I’m waiting for Apple to fix hopefully via firmware before opening them.
So good so far. I'd say:
  • The sound quality to me is way better than my APP1's. Mainly its clarity and the sound-stage is wider which makes a big difference. Transparency and the Microphones are way better as well. ANC is light years ahead. Bass is louder than APP1's but quieter than APP1's with Comply tips.
  • Maybe part of the longer tips but they feel like they are constantly going to fall out. They don't and I shook my head around to test without any issues. I preferred the fit of my APP1's with Comply tips, so I've ordered some for the APP3's. The Comply's also dramatically improved ANC and the sound quality for me on before (I guess as they improved fitment), so I'm hoping they will do the same for these.
  • I do get a weird high pitch whistle in both earphones when I'm putting them in. the whistle doesn't happen when wearing or taking them out. Also the whistle is not loud so its not a problem, just strange. Seems to happen regardless of transparency/anc mode.
  • The heart-rate monitor function only seems to work when you're doing a workout and the workout is being tracked with the Apple app, so it's pretty much useless to me. I didn't buy them for this though so not really bothered.
  • The live translation is terrible. It has a significant delay (circa 2secs) and the audio levels between the person speaking and the translation are close so it just sounds like two people are talking at you at the same time. Plus as you need an iphone with you to translate what you say back for them, you might as well not bother with the Airpods at all and use a better translation app on the phone. With the phone out as well it's more intentional so people you are talking will be happier.

Hopefully useful 🙂

EDIT: Just received the Comply's for my APP3's. Fixes the falling out feeling issue. Also ANC has improved very slightly as has sound presentation. The fitment must make a big difference to these.

I have a friend with APP3 and he mentioned he is still having those whistling and static noise issues. They released new firmware today. Did it fix anything?

Had to travel 22 times to service two different Air Pods Pro 2's during the extended recall. Bought the Air Pods Pro 3 two days ago, on first use, the left side made a whining/whistling sound when touching the stem. And then static and staccato connection when using them for phone calls. Called apple (doesn't) care, the tech never heard of the gen 2 issues. Returned them to Best Buy. I think apple used the same H2 internal part? Same issues, new model. Wasn't there a class action lawsuit regarding the pro 2's. What a scam this has become.

Dude that’s nuts. Did you update to latest firmware and still experienced this? I have a brand new pair in the box and I’m scared to try because my previous ones I had to return from constant static and whistling sound.
