Just found this while trying to troubleshoot my own issues.

I have an MX Master 2S which is stuttering and lagging on my M1 MBP probably every 5-10 seconds. It wasn't having this issue last week so I'm confused as to what's changed. Also, my MX Keys are also lagging intermittently (around every 5-10 seconds as well).

What's interesting is that I have a magic mouse that works perfectly and doesn't experience any issues.

I just noticed something that could confirm that this is a pure software issue.

Running a MX Anywhere 3 mouse in Bluetooth on my new MBP M1 with Big Sur 11.1:
- The mouse is PERFECTLY SMOOTH on the login screen. I mean: absolutely perfect. Note that this must be after a reboot, not just a log out from your session.
- But just after login, I get the same problem that many people described: mouse pointer is generally more laggy, and kind of very laggy from time to time, in a random way.

Can anyone try to reproduce and confirm this?
If so, maybe it would mean that some service which is run after logging phase is creating this issue.

Yes, dude! I'm getting the same exact result.

EDIT: I FOUND A SOLUTION (for at least my issue)

Let me know if this worked! I was chatting with Apple for over an hour doing pointless stuff and ended up finding this link!

I am seeing wireless disconnect for no reason, but need to evaluate more before I know it is an issue.
Did you evaluate more. After running many tests, here is a Tip that worked for the last 36 hours with no bluetooth disconnects.

Testing with:
M1 Mac mini 8G 128 SSD
AirPod Pros
Apple 2nd Gen Wireless Keyboard
2.4 Ghz Wireless Anker Mouse (USB 2.0 adapter)
Wifi 2.4 or 5G Wireless (signal drops sometimes seen via VPN)
Ethernet local network gigabit connection stable

(( Use a USB donged wireless mouse, keyboard, or a wired keyboard for this tip. ))

Step 1. Exit out of all programs because you will need to shut down your machine after Step 3.

Step 2. Use the Shift+Option Click on Bluetooth Icon and select "Factory Reset all connected Apple devices." Which disconnects everything and you repair them, although no resetting of the actual devices is noted. They still retained their device name when reconnected.

Step 3. Use the Shift+Option Click on Bluetooth Icon and select "Reset Bluetooth Module". Then immediately shut your machine down.

Step 4. Let it sit for 10-15 seconds.

Step 5. Boot up as normal. It should even remember your devices. This surprised me, but the connections have been steady ever sense.

Everything, including combined video editing, png compression with 400% processor load, x264 1080p video viewing, Vulkin 3D scene development active at 100% speed, still no drops. I was having drops every 5 minutes almost, and whenever I would launch another audio app, or video file.

Unrelated, but significantly helping keep things smoother, "TG Pro.app" fan tool to speed up the fans in the M1 Mac mini, keeping the processor temp as low as 98º F (37ºC) or maxing out crossing PNG image compressing of over 600 images at 138ºF (59ºC). The fan will slow back down with more aggressive cooling techniques pushing the limits and still it keeps the connections stable.

I am reporting back to an Apple tech on Tuesday about this. I had made several system diagnostic recordings and stamped as many errors as I had, but finding the above tip, and

I have a SWITCH gamepad issue with Dolphin related to recognizing as a controller. Although the "Enjoyable.app" 3rd party tool to map to keyboard works as an alternative for now. Now analog control though this way sadly.

The one hangup that is still causing a 30-second lockup of the 2.4 ghz mouse is checking for system updates. If I do this, the mouse louses connection for 30 seconds then becomes available. No other disconnect happens. This is regardless of if the USB adapter is directly plugged into the Mac mini USB-2 port, or if it is plugged into an adapter.

I'm having this issue too with me M1 mac mini and Logitech K380 keyboard. It's incredibly frustrating, and worse when it happens on the login screen.
Does that keyboard come with a dongle? See if you can run it off a dongle, till Apple fixes it (if that ever happens).

Nope, it’s only Bluetooth. It’s annoying me so much that I had to pull out my old Apple wired keyboard. This is seriously making me consider returning the Mac mini. They need to get their act together with this quickly.

Please try my resolution on this page, it fixed both of my Logitech devices with stuttering. I have a feeling it'll be the solution for a lot of general bluetooth problems.

I tried the steps outlined here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...oth-connectivity-issues.2271512/post-29463648

They made 0 difference for me. My current frustration is that my Apple Watch will not unlock my M1 Mac mini. There are also intermittent problems authorizing Apple Pay on the Mac with the watch. It unlocks my 2015 iMac just fine.

Just wanted to come to say I'm having an issue as well. Mac Mini M1 mouse issue with it cutting in and out. A restart will fix it for a while but it just comes back. Logitech mouse with Bluetooth dongle. No issue when I use it with the Macbook Pro or Macbook.

I don't have very many bluetooth devices to test, but my AirPods Pro on MacBook Pro M1 often experience repeated audio hiccups. They won't fully disconnect, but will get these half second drops. It happened on my previous one too (which I swapped out for more memory and storage), so it's probably a software issue. Thankfully it looks like Apple is aware of the issue and has a fix in the works. This same thing has happened with several iPhones over the years and they've managed to resolve it with a software/firmware update, so here's hoping they can address it like that for the M1 systems without the need for a hardware repair.

There certainly could be some software improvements to the driver, perhaps a bug with those for the M1 Macs. However, USB 3.0 still can be a problem with BT.

When I added an SSD, my HDD/SSD upgrade kit included the following, which I was surprised because I don’t recall having issues — though I then remembered I only used FW and USB 2.0 peripherals until recently.

I have the MX Anywhere 2sS and I tried this and it maybe worked a bit, but it still stutters. To me this issue seems related to processor priorities. Try opening an app and then immediately moving the mouse. My mouse will stutter as the program is opening and then is mostly smooth again afterwards. So from this I gather that the cpu task of tracking the mouse is put behind opening the app. This can happen in Windows too when you set programs to real-time CPU priority.

I have not had any Magic Mouse 2 issues since my upgrade (RC3, which is the release). When I booted up, my Apple keyboard wasn't recognized. I turned off the keyboard and turned it back on and MacOS was able to find it. :(

I'm buying my first Mac Mini and finally moving away from a Windows PC. I was going to go with the Logitech mouse and keyboard because I love my K800 keyboard and wireless Logitech mouse so much. But reading this thread is making me consider just getting something wireless. Keyboard and mice should just be something that works 100% of the time, not something you have to worry about configuring, getting glitchy or losing connection.

I have a new MBA M1. I just got the Logitech Anywhere MX 3 mouse and noticed the jumpy scrolling right away compared to how smooth the trackpad is. Checked Logitech site for an update/info and downloaded Logi Options. I tried adjusting several settings but couldn't get rid of the stutter when scrolling. Tried the mouse with my iPad and it stutters there also. Maybe I've just had an iPad for so long I don't remember what mice are like? Don't want a dongle or dock to use the receiver as I use the notebook mostly on my lap and move it on my coffee table shelf when not in use. Maybe I'll try the Magic Trackpad instead. My only issue with the trackpad on MBA is the small size at times but I'm getting used to it.

Interesting. This is beginning to seem more like a Logitech issue than BT. I realize, it could be because Logitech is popular — I have multiple Logitech keyboards and mice, though I use the unifying receiver. However, are people with other third-party branded input devices having trouble?

Update... no issues with any bluetooth device since this post on Feb 2nd on my M1 Mini.
