Recently I did a clean install of Snow Leopard (2 days ago). As soon as I started up, I went straight to my address book so that I could import some contacts. It shows that it's open on the dock, but the application never responds, and the window never pops up, this also happens with iChat. I've tried repairing my permissions but that did nothing. Could someone help me out?

Did you restore your files using Time Machine backup? I recommend you to do another clean install to get rid of the possibility of defective install and then restore your files manually (dragging) to their places

No, I did not use a Time Machine backup. All I did was my fresh install, then I got Adium and Mozilla Firefox and that's it.

I am on 10.6.1

Just had a thought, hope you didn't go through a reinstall yet...Does it make a difference if you launch said applications through Spotlight or directly from Applications? Could be the Dock shortcuts are all fouled up...
