I have a question that I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with. I am running Windows on a late '06 MBP (see sig for specs). I am dual booting usinf Boot Camp. I am going to switch to VMware for a try. I have had 2 main problems with Windows:
1) The touchpad. I have read all about it and it seems that there is nothing I can do about this except buy a new Mac.
2) If I am in Windows and I click 'Restart,' my machine will not restart. It shuts down and then the optical drive makes the obnoxious noise that it always makes when it starts up, but that is as far as it goes.
Now here is my question: If I install VMware and then point it to Bootcamp so that I can have the option of running both, will I still have these 2 problems while running in VMware?
My guess is that the answer is 'no' since I am really running in OSX. It's just the fact that I am pointing to what basically amounts to a 'busted' instance of Windows that worries me.
Maybe I just need to test and see...
Anyone else have problem (2) with the restart? Is it my machine? I have never been able to find a fix for this.
