Just coming here to vent and say #$** you Apple. Terrible QA on this. It's affecting many people across all models of your computers. Intel / M1, 2015 to 2022.

What annoys me the most is how they play ignorant for weeks/months before they finally acknowledge the fault.
I agree, insomniac86. Apple's silence on this is incredibly frustrating.

Heads up if you are not aware of this.

There is now a work-around.

"A number of users are experiencing overnight battery drain on MacBooks in macOS 12.2, and this turns out to be due to a Bluetooth bug that continually wakes the machine from sleep. The bug affects both Intel and M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro machines.

"We’ve previously suggested manually toggling Bluetooth off at the end of the day, but now there’s an app for that …

"Developer Jordi Bruin created the FluTooth app for his own use and found it solved the problem, so is now sharing it with others ..."

The rest of the article is here (from 9to5Mac):
Automated workaround for overnight battery drain on MacBooks in macOS 12.2

I still prefer my own solution using sleepwatch and blueutil. Not only it gives me full control but also can be used for other things - beyond BT control.

We are looking good! I tested 3 times and I did not see a single darkwake ?

Test setup:

2018 15" MacBook Pro that had the issue on 12.3 Beta 1. I installed 12.3 Beta 2 and I can't reproduce the issue.

Sounds promising. Thanks for the update. Please let us know how it goes after an extended period.

Final report.

14% Battery loss in 24 Hours with an Apple Magic Keyboard connected.
I also restarted the Mac halfway through just to be sure.

This only happened when I upgraded to a MagicMouse2 and after several different attempts to resolve I discovered that it was solved if I turned the mouse off from it's switch at night.
Presumably the Bluetooth issue!

I've just come across this thread. Are folks still having issues ? The penny has now dropped on some issues I've been having with a Keychron keyboard, as well as 3D Connexion Cadmouse. For me switching stuff off feels very 1980s !

12.2 is pretty old. I'm on 12.4 no issues

Out of interest was 12. 3 okay ? I'm loathed to install a beta on a new machine that I'm using as primary. Hoping it might be fixed in 12.4 !!
It was fixed, I am on developer's beta, so I honestly can't remember when it was fixed, but I am experiencing no problems. Either issues are specific to certain bluetooth devices/and or certain Macs, or the beta program is more stable than the public release. The issues that I've read about haven't been all that substantial, once they got that memory leak fixed. although I did read some clown writer was saying they were still there and referenced an article from November to prove his point LOL. Maybe the memory leaks are still there, but a November article to prove his point. ridiculous
