I have a friend with a new Unibody Macbook and I was wondering if I could install Leopard on my Macbook Pro (early 08) using his install disks?

I read somewhere that as long as you have newer install disks you can install on older computers. Is this true?

a few years ago it worked for me, but that was using an ibook's install disks on my imac. recently, every time i've tried it hasn't work, even between different models of the same generation of macbook.

Install discs are specific to each model.

Duff-Man says...how many times a week does this question have to be answered?

In addition to what has been said yet again, there is also the fact that your friend having Leopard install discs does *not* give him or you a license to install it on any computer other than the one he has...oh yeah!
