i want to get a 16gb iphone (most likely will be 1.1.3 OTB).
my orange contract isn't up until november, so i guess i will need unlock it to use on my orange contract.

few questions.

i assume ZiPhone will be the tool to use to unlock it for other networks? does this downgrade any functions?

what features won't i have access to if using my orange sim?

i'm not interested in installing 3rd party apps.. does unlocking also jailbreak it ?

once november comes, would i be able to restore the iphone back to factory and then treat it like it was brand new unactivated and go to O2?

thanks for any answers.

1. Yes, no
2. I believe you will loose visual voicemail. Without a data plan internet and such would only be availible using WiFi.
3. Yes
4. Yes

do i lose anything by the bootloader being downgraded (assuming that ziphone does this)

is there anything else i should be aware of?

how do you restore it back to the way it was OTB ?

also, is it better to use iJailBreak 0.5.3 or the ZiPhone2.4 package ?

through my personal experience, ZiPhone 2.4 works better. iJailbreak left me with YouTube not working, While ZiPhone worked perfectly. although others have had both work like a charm.
