Some sort of mixing application?

Hi,

I was at a birthday party on Saturday night, and the "DJ" (just another student at my college) was playing music, from, I assume, iTunes. But, in between every song was a scratching or rewinding-sounding noise, where the next song would follow. Occasionally a scratching or rewinding noise would be in the middle of a song.

Does anyone have the faintest idea what plugin or application this person was using? Need I be more descriptive?

AAh! I think this was the exact program being used. Now to figure out how to use it!

Its very easy to use, take a look at the Virtual DJ forums, they explain how to mix etc.
