Apple has updated their Status page with a new design, and removed the history timeline. I wonder why? Maybe because it was a poor design, but to remove historical data entirely is a bit disappointing. Users should able to see the status over a window of time, not just "right now".

It's gotten quite a bit worse.

Speaking of iCloud, can't believe I still need an Outlook, Gmail, etc, account in order to use my Apple ID. Why can't my @icloud.com account be my one and only? :(

You don't need an external email account. You can just have @icloud.com if you want. Where's the confusion?

Yes you do. If I were to delete my Outlook account, I would lose all my purchases from iTunes and the App Store as @me and @icloud are just alias, not the real account.

You have to go to appleid.apple.com and change it 1st. There is some kooky things when using icloud.com acct tho. Seems you cannot change an icloud.com AppleID to another email address but I believe you are wanting to do the other way around. Anyway check this, it may help.

The discussion is correct, I want to ditch my obsolete Outlook account in favor of my already existing myemail@icloud.com alias, which Apple does not support unless you create a new account on an iPhone, but then purchases will be lost. Great UX there...

Same boat here. I want to switch from a gmail account.

This bugs me a lot. I have an @me.com email which is old and actually works as my primary email on my Apple ID but my other family members don't and so they have other emails that tag along. It's strange because if you setup a new Apple ID with an iCloud email then they are forever linked and it's all good. But if you set it up with something else as your primary then you can never switch am iCloud email to the primary. Weird stuff

For everyone who asks why people still buy physical media, this is why. While Apple Music is down, I'm still able to listen to my music collection.

You can keep your Apple Music / Spotify libraries offline as well. No need for physical media.

Just to be clear. Deleting your Outlook Account won't affect your Apple services in any way except that you won't be able to get recovery emails. It looks like what you're having an issue with is that you want to combine 2 separate accounts... which Apple doesn't support. Your iCloud account that using an Outlook email address as it's Apple ID can have the Apple ID changed to another email address that's not already in use as an Apple ID, but it can't be changed to an already existing Apple ID.
This is something that has vexed me for years... I have an old Apple ID I want to make my primary, but all my purchases are on another Apple ID. Apple has repeatedly said there's no way to merge the two unless I give up my current one (let them completely remove it from the service) and then change the old one to the new one... and there's no guarantee that there won't be a long pause while the system clears the old one from all the nooks and crannies it's cached in... or that it just won't work in the end. This is annoying to no end... but most other services don't have a merger either as far as I'm aware. So I'm stuck with one address as my iTunes/AppStore ID and another as my iCloud ID.

Note: Any iCloud account created as an iCloud account is a real account... not an alias. it's only an 'alias' if your actual Apple ID is something other than @mac.com, @me.com, or @icloud.com.

I need a vacation... and a tub of Ice Cream... and for S3/AWS to stay operational...

lol i must be one of the .04% user group ;) d-m thing downed all my services this morn causing me to have to manually setup mail config filter, contacts pretty much everything.

Okay, thanks, I was wondering what I did wrong :-( What are the appropriate file formats for that (PNG? JPG?)

So iCloud has other functions than just asking for the password fifty times a week?
Yeah; what's that all about? I had to change my MacMini iCloud password today because the old password no long worked. Now I can't connect my phone to iCloud with the new password.
