We have a 6 year old girl, but she is pregnant with our first boy...

You made it sound like your 6-year old... is pregnant... o_O
That having been said, sorry for your loss. I'd go in to a store with the kid. Tell them it was on the couch and not the floor. They will probably help you.

I see from your profile that you are self-employed. Is that a business computer? If so, perhaps that $480 is deductible! :) (Seek advice from a tax accountant or attorney).

yep - took a rattle-type toy to it, just walked up and whacked it. no chance to react / intervene. replacement tv is wall-mounted. thought my then-one-year-old was more harmless than she was..

took it in this morning, $480 to replace the screen.

Not sure how you DONT hang stuff up that puts it out of reach, especially expensive electronics like TV's and laptops.

Exchange your kid with one of these tiny Chinese ones. They are apparently very well behaved and can, in the case of breaking your electronics, probably fix it themselves or get you a good deal on cheap factory spare parts. It's Xmas, buy one get one free!

The way I see it, she owes you a MBA and a 50" flatscreen when she gets that nice well paying job 20 years from now. :)

Last time I broke my screen, the Apple Store only wanted $300. $489 sounds a bit too high.

Anyways sorry to hear this happen. I've stepped on my own computer too and it does suck. I no longer leave my computer on the floor.

Sorry for your loss man. I am wee bit worried though. I just bought a MBP (my first) and the wife is going to have a MBA 13" under the tree. We have a 6 year old girl, but she is pregnant with our first boy.... I guess I will have to invest in some anvil cases! :)

lol. Your 6 year old is pregnant with your first boy?

You can always replace your Air. Your child is priceless, and cannot be replaced. Not to bum anyone out, but my best friend's 13 year old boy was hit by a car and killed a couple of years ago. I'm sure he'd give up everything to have him back. So think about how lucky you are to have a healthy and happy family.. Sorry if I messed your head up....

Your 2 year old is alive and healthy. Feel better? :D
