So I went to install an app on the Apple TV 4 and it asked me which account I wanted to use - and then brought up my account AND someone else which I don’t recognise.

It said to delete multiple accounts from settings which I have done.

How was this possible for someone else’s account to be on the device? It’s never left the house and no one has had access to it physically.

Obviously nervous. Has this happened to anyone else?

Is it possible a friend or family member used their account to download something at one time?

Unless someone is remotely accessing your Apple TV (and using their account to buy stuff???), then I think you've probably just forgotten somebody signing into their account on your device.

No it’s impossible. No one uses it but me. No one else has access. And no one recognises the email address or name used.

They can’t. I’m the only user and it wasn’t there the last time an app was installed. It’s just appeared out of thin air.

Okay but it didn’t appear out of thin air. There is a rational explanation. Talk to Apple.

If you are worried, change your WiFi password. That’s the only way I can imagine someone accessing your Apple TV.

Did you buy it new or second hand?

did you at anytime upload apps to the ATV4 yourself with USB ?

reminds me of jailbreak iPhones, and installing cracked apps, this would give another e-mail address when updating.

Nope. Standard Apple TV 4 with no funny business.

I honestly don't know how someone could access the Apple TV outside of my house. Air play? Remote? They would still need to know my Wifi password AND two factor authentication to get a code to access the Apple TV.

Very confusing.

Looks like you've been hacked. Call the FBI, NSA, CIA, DEA, FEMA and KFC ASAP...

But seriously, this is unusual. Try uninstalling the app, force a reboot then reinstall the app. If this doesn't work try doing a reset/restore with your Apple TV (you'll need to connect your Apple TV to your Mac and restore via iTunes). If all else fails, call Apple.

I have a photo of a family that appears in my ICloud photos that is from somebody else’s account. I cannot get rid of it. Keeps coming back.

And there are plenty of small problems with Apple cloud services which are well documented.

I’m guessing a iCloud or server glitch. I’d be curious to hear what Apple has to say about this.

Someone hacking into your Appletv just to connect to another account does not make sense.

Is the Apple ID they are using an email address? I’d email them and ask.
