Here is something that not many of you have thought about. I bought the Hermes version because I can transfer this band to another watch when it becomes obsolete.

You can do that with the non-Hermes bands too. I can take the Nike band and put it on a non-Nike watch. There's actually a huge industry in watch bands for this specific reason. All of the Apple Watches have freely interchangeable bands (within the size constraints), that's not unique to Hermes Apple Watches.

I was referring to watches that are not apple like my Longines.

I must admit I keep coming back to this thread and we are going round in circles. Those that like (and maybe have) the Hermes will never convince those that have no wish to have one.

We are all different and it is a forum of opinions after all :)

I love the Hermes bands and the faces - to me the premium was worth it. My wife who has Chanel and Gucci bags thought it was a waste of money as she hates tech. I pointed out to her that I don't get the point of a Chanel bag when a high street one will do the same and she sort of saw what I was getting at. Each to their own.

What I don't get about this thread is the way that (both sides) imply a superior knowledge by falling on one side of the fence. There really is no correct response, it is just down to the individual and their wants and likes...not down to even status or wealth.

FWIW I don't care if people have aluminium, stainless, ceramic or titanium. I love that so many people get to enjoy the Apple Watch and realise it's benefits.
The OP basically asked for a comparison between the Hermès and the SS but this thread has been derailed very early on.

Huh? How would you attach a Hermes Apple band to a non-Apple watch?
You can't. You might be able to unscrew the bar that the band goes around, from the part that attaches to the Apple Watch but I don't think you can get that bar out of the band with those 90 degree bends in it unless that bar is 2 pieces.

I don’t know if the OEM lug bars are two pieces but you can get third party lugs from Amazon that are two piece bars. I assume they are for all but I’m not about to take apart my Hermès band to check lol.

Finally. Thank you for bringing a balanced, reasoned response that avoids name calling and hyperbole to justify a personal choice.

The bar is 2 pieces. I have disassembled these lugs to swap silver hardware for space black in the past and it is not hard to do. You just need the right pentalobe screwdriver.

started off with alu series 6 and got steel the next day. Still regret not going for hermes because with 3x link bracelets it was just stupidity. Hermes faces are way better than apple faces
