See the notification alert on the facebook icon? I tried everything to get rid of it and no matter what I did, it just won't go away. I checked my account, there's no more notifications. I even went to the extend of deleting the app, and installing it again from iTunes. But the red circle is still there?!??

Anyone knows how to refresh the icon somehow?

Have you tried turning your phone off and then back on? Not that it will fix it necessarily but worth a shot.

Have you gone to desktop FB and deleted all your inbox? It should work.

    Delete the app and reinstall.

Edit: sorry, was on my iPhone at the time and missed that you already tried this.

Yes I did. Login from my mbp 17" on fb. No messages in inbox etc. No notifications of any sort right now etc. Logout from desktop. Re-login from iPhone fb, closes app. The bloody notification thingy is still there~~!!!!!

I dont use facebook but try doing something that would update the number like getting a message from someone.

Had this problem with Beejive before too but sending a message to someone would clear it up.

    Solved~

Unspoken Demise, I'm not jailbroken. Currently under Maxis (malaysian telco).

Here's how to solve it in case anyone encounters similar problem:-

    1) Delete fb from phone.
    2) Reset iPhone (hold sleep/wake button + home button).
    3) Then slide to power off.
    4) Wait at least 5 secs after phone is completely shutdown to power on again.
    5) Reinstall fb from itunes.

LOL. I figure as much. :D The "My..." was actually "My Maxis". Sometimes it will displays "My..." once the telco's name is done scrolling from right-to-left.
