I asked this question in another part of this forum, but only received 1 response and it did not help, unless i have done something wrong.

When in aperture the file size of a picture is 4.68mb, and when i drag the photo to a file on my desktop, the file size goes down to 268kb!! Can someone tell me why this is happening?

Thanks

David

My image export preset is set to jpeg original, shouldn't that "drag" the same size file to the desktop folder??

Use the Export version function from the file menu.....from there. You can specify size, file name etc.

What gets dragged out is the preview image. Either use the Export command or change your preview image settings to be as large as possible (with the result that the space taken up by previews will shoot up. The preview images are also used if you select images via the Media Browser in iWork or other applications that use the Media Browser.
