I got a feeling AT&T is also messing with the price for a regular grade gallon of gas.:D

Seriously though. Of course the price of per text messages will go up. The demand and usage on texting has skyrocketed in the last few years and AT&T is just following market standard....more people want and use it, charge more for it.

I have 1500 messages on my plan, but also use LOOPT and AIM to com with everyone in my lists.

If you don't have loopt, it has a cool comment feature that you can use like texting, for those of you who don't have text plans.

I disagree. Then why do they even have unlimited text plans?

The unlimited plans provide the phone company with a nice even and predictable revenue stream; and because the number of people willing to pay for those unlimited plans is currently still less than the SMS/signalling channel capacity can statistically handle. If that changes, expect the price for all plans to go up even more. Basic Econ 101.
