What looks more ridiculous to me is someone with a tiny 4" phone shoved up against there face while the try to tap those little bitty icons or keyboard. If they were still just phones then sure I'd want a smaller one. Apple and millions of people have realized this and that's why the tiny size is going away.

But up until apple released these other size phones you were perfectly happy with YOUR 4" phone correct?

To each their own

I charged it full before I went to bed, used it for a while for surfing forums, all the usage time is with screen on. Auto Brightness.

You can guess how good this battery is on my 6 plus

My iPhone 6 certainly hasn't been as good as I was hoping, but I'm seeing it was some improvement I guess.
My iPhone 5S was giving me 4-5 hours usage.
I'm a no-more-than-50% brightness kinda guy. I usually have auto switched on, but often adjust brightness down manually.

Usage times from my 6 so far:

Day 1, received at 70%, plugged it in to laptop straight away and set it up. After that:
Usage: 5:33
Standby: 6:22
Mostly off-wifi.

Charged back up to 100% that night, unplugged before bed:
Usage: 7:27
Standby: 14:24
Mostly WiFi, no more than an hour of cellular use.

Yesterday evening/today:
Usage: 6:26
Standby: 17:08

Tomorrow will be my true test, at work. Usually have to charge it before 5pm, after arriving at 9:30 and using it a little before work, GPS on the way, and using it during the day.

"Yesterday evening/today:
Usage: 6:26
Standby: 17:08" part - at what % it is now / was before you plugged it in?

Someone who had to charge their 5s at least 2x a day… How is the battery on 6...

My 6+ has been amazing so far. Got it yesterday around 3pm. It was fully charged after updating and transferring all my music, etc. Hasn't been back on a charger since. And I've been on the phone a lot. I have brightness set to 25-50% depending on where I am.

So from about 4pm Saturday until now...

That was it going flat - I checked my usage when it was at 1%, took a screenshot. It went off shortly after (within a minute).
I usually make note or take a screenshot when it's at 1% or when it comes back on after plugging in.

Riiiiiiiight… And that is 6 not 6+ you are talking about?

Looks like I'm going with 6+ then, waiting for it.

If you need the battery life me that's your number one priority, the why not consider the plus?

I got one, not just for the battery life, but I easliy get a day "plus" out of it. And that's fairly heavy use the past couple of days.

I don't think it is a joke. I am going from one 5.5" phone to another. Only reason I am switching back is I prefer iOS. I like the large screen and if it comes with better battery life then great. Apple addressed my 3 criticisms with their phones in the 6+: small screen, poor battery life, and lack of NFC.

Mine doesn't last as long as my 5 did, but that's too be expected with a larger screen. It's no big deal.

"Tiny little icons or keyboard"? Well, they are actually the identical size on my iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. So, yeah. I also hold both at the same distance.

I suggested on another thread that I would make a form to collate some battery life results. Link to the form is below.
Please fill it in :)

Soooo I had some time to kill, and created a form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1BXvQW-gRP1GQvx06ElACCTu3dPhOe9JX42P22Z6VVwI/viewform

Google docs form, asks questions about device model, size, brightness setting, usage time, standby time.
I've only entered options for iPhone 5 and later (5, 5S, 5C, 6, 6+).
If there are any questions anyone can think of to add, let me know.

Once there's a fair amount of results, I'll put some stats of some sort together (ie, average time per model, max, min).

6 with just moderate use as I also have a work issue phone. Disappointing but the year will go fast and next year will be an improvement it always is.

The only reason Apple went backwards with poor battery life in these is they're new and Apple has no experience with large screens in an even thinner phone.

Even Apple makes mistakes. No problem.

Eh. i am a satisfied customer with the 6+ in regards to battery life so far. It's definitely better than my Note 3.

So long as I'm not playing X-Com for a couple hours straight, it lasts all day just fine with moderate use. I keep it at 80% brightness.

although the 6 plus has a bigger screen it really will not effect the battery life. So needless to say, the Plus will last you about twice as long with a single charge as the 6.

How can you not take into account the 6 plus having to push twice as many pixels at all times over the 6? Great logic.

Their may be some quality or performance differences in the initial iP6 model batteries.

My year old heavily used Note 3 returns almost twice the battery life of my brand new iP6.

Are you talking 6 or 6+?
You've said iP6 so I assumed 6, but I wouldn't have thought the 6 was the model to compare to the Note 3; I thought that'd be the 6+

I think it's crazy that people consider the 6 Plus just because of a better battery.

Anyway.. I have the 6, as I think the 6 Plus is absolutely absurd. I laughed when I picked it up. I even wish the 6 was a little smaller. 4.3" would be perfect. But anyway.. the battery is NOTICEABLY better. I recently had my 5 battery checked, and Apple said it was "good"... granted, I may have had a firmware issue with my 5.. but the 6 battery is a night and day difference. Lasted me all day and night yesterday with still a decent amount left over. With my 5, I was struggling to get a solid HALF day.

It's weird, I said the exact same thing you said. Until I got it. Now it's the best phone I've ever owned. I love it. You have to own the phone to know how good it really is. The plus is an absolute joy to use. Battery is incredible.

I inadvertently wrote 6, but I do mean 6+

Perhaps run times will improve soon, if not it's not a dealbreaker. I'm sure next year will improve.

I tried one in the Apple Store this evening.
Texted the missus straight away telling her I want one... I already have the iPhone 6, but that screen!
So much better. Only played the few games that apple demo on it (which weren't the best to demo it), but it was great on a bigger screen!
Even general app UI seemed better.

It's just the size! I can't imagine carrying that around.

Anyway; my latest battery on my iPhone 6
Usage: 6:49
Standby: 13:33
3% left but went off about a minute later.
Brightness about 25% or less (was indoors).
I had turned off 4G and Frequent locations today.

I know. Believe me, I couldn't imagine carrying one around either man. That's why you gotta own it to understand how amazing it is. Like, actually walk out of the store with it. Then you'll realize how amazing it is.

What's really crazy is that someone would pick a phone with worse battery life. A phone is just a piece of glass and aluminum plastic crap when the battery is dead

I would have upgraded from the 5 with NO other changes just to get the Improved battery life I have with the 6.
