iphone se 1st gen 2016 model..battery maximum capacity at 91%. battery quality gradually worsened during the week..now it consumes 2% within 20 seconds. im a heavy note app user..heavy typer..fast typer. issue occured on ios 13.5.1 i already upgraded to 13.6 , removed music app then re-installed the issue is still there.

the note app also quits by itself..i believe the phone picked up my habit of closing the note app using the home button then using the calculator then using the notes app again..then closing. it does this by itself.

battery use was normal then it gradually got worse in the 1st week of me monitoring my phone condition.
i think it was like 10% battery loss..then..20% immediate battery loss..then 30%..

i am reserving all suspicions..but i have suspicions..it could be anything..

the phone is completely unusable without it being hooked up to a usb cable. i have tons of valuable notes on my notes app.

is there anyone else experiencing the same thing? atleast 1 issue..the battery?

my phone also gets considerably rapidly hot while using notes. its like a hot oven on the rear.

would this be a bug within the ios? i can guarantee you i didnt have this issue prior to the 13.5.1 upgrade

i have a gut feeling that its some software bug thats "parasiting battery consumption".

i dont think i will be upgrading to a new phone since brand new iphone users had issues already.

i think i may have overwhelmed the os with my style of use. but i have been doing this months prior to the battery issue occuring and even before the 13.5.1 ios upgrade.

i still have plenty of memory left. i write many notes daily. but how in the world would the battery get considerably affected like this?

to me it seems there's a rogue/hidden software running in the background.

would it be that keeping high memory on the notes app makes the phone to require to consume high battery consumption?

i have 1,023 notes (13.6 ios ver). on the other phone i have 1,289 notes (same phone model). its not affected (the battery) it has 13.5.1 ios ver. i will upload a vid if i can later its still uploading right now.

app ios devs should give consumers better ios diagnostic features on their iphones. i believe android has this feature. i believe apple has this feature but they are keeping it private for public use. they should just give/release it for free as an ios feature.

keep your eyes on the battery counter..
it fell 2% instantly from 94% to 92% by just typing those words.

Phone batteries allow about 500 full charge/discharge cycles before they are toast. That's why most any phone needs new battery after more than 2 years of being used daily and powered on 24x7 . Possibly consider to swap for new battery at battery and bulbs or anyplace known to be fully legit with factory/approved batteries. Or grab up a new iphone SE1 from ebay or a new iphone SE2 from wherever for $100, and transfer onto the new phone.

I find that APPLE WATCH is an awesome way to mitigate battery usage compared to using iphone SE1 directly. Do as much as possible on the watch and you may find it a "FORCE MULTIPLIER" ! Plus the watch messaging app and other apps has a bunch of stuff that the phone doesn't have ! ALso the watch can do a bunch of messaging stuff via wifi while the phone is powered off.

You better make sure you backup all information on the phone that's important to you.

An iPhone SE 1 is old, of course the battery is gonna die fast, My iPhone 8 battery already needs servicing and I got it brand new 😂 , got it first day of release. Does the battery say "Service" in settings?

The battery is 4.5 years old.. get it replaced.

Had the same problem with my iphone 6s.
1. Thing to do:
-Back up your data
- check the battery usage from your apps
Maybe you have some 3rd partie apps wich are using a lot of battery

if this is not working maybe you need to synchronize your battery again (like in my case)
charge your battery until its on 100% then leave it on the charger for one more hour
After that use your phone until it dies and charge it again. I had to do this two times.

Try a rechargeable iPhone charging case to plug and snap into your phone until you get the new battery, it’ll help you out a ton, charging your phone wherever you go

only when i use the notes app it eats the battery fast..i tested reading on the books app..battery consumption is normal..
also apple gave an unexpected update on this specific phone..it looks like a pop up update with nothing else..no terms and condition..i thought it was normal..but its just weird because i hooked up my 2nd phone which is a 1st gen se it didnt give me that update.

Idk why the notes app would drain it, do you have like millions of words on one page 😂? That’s weird though....

i use it like a diary..for "important stuff"..the notes app consumes battery like nitro..but i dont feel like blaming the note app..i feel like blaming a hidden app running in the background..or some "virus"..

i use my phone like crazy like a robot (noteapp, home button and calculator)..i feel like i have overused the home button..and the note app..but i've been using this style for years. i suspect i broke the software by "overusing it".

its like the app is straining and the os knows it..when i start using the notes app..the battery "is draining already". i will upload a vid soon.

the text content is plenty..it is consuming alot of note memory..but i also use the note app like a computer text document, similarly with the typing style.

i just want to save my phone and figure out what's wrong.

when scrolling through texts in the notes app..battery use is normal. when i type a single letter its like the phone is getting into paranoid mode.

Go here, follow the steps and screenshot please. Make sure no personal data is shown.

Even though your battery life shows 91%, it is likely that the battery is bloated and needs replacement. Its a quick fix. Just visit any repair shop and get it replaced. Just make sure the battery is OEM or at least of good quality

Speaking of 91%, I just had the battery replaced on my (orig) SE. I should have it back by Tuesday. It cost me $58 and it was received by them in less than a full day, repaired the next morning and boxed up ready for the return trip. That is good customer service.

I would get the battery replaced, OP.

This is why sealed, proprietary batteries suck. You could always try wiping it and setting it up fresh, see if it helps anything, but my 6s you could watch the battery falling practically in real time, and I think it claimed it was 92 or 93%

I had an iPhone 6 with battery life at “86%” but dropped 4% every time I turned it on, and after 20 minutes of usage it would drop 80%, most likely a “bloated” battery.

I'm having similar problems after upgrading to 13.6.

My time between charges went from 6 hours to 3...

For, me deleting the Music App seem to help the rapid consumption...

Edit: no it is still rapidly discharging...

Fixed it - ran to the Apple Store for an SE2!!!

When I got back home, the old phone kept saying it needs a charger but hooking up a charger didn't do anything - wouldn't charge anymore or turn on anymore...

Glad I have an iPad for the two-factor authentication when I restored my new phone.
