This has always bothered me and was hoping Leopard would finally allow this, but no. Seems like a TOTALLY UNNECESSARY step to open a browser to view these. Whats the reasoning behind this? I see in preview this time you can view every frame of a gif, just not actually view it in motion.

Preview used to be able to animate GIF's there was a Play option on the toolbar. Maybe it was in the days of Panther.

Panther's preview used to support and play animations, but for some reason they took it away out of Tiger... and it's stilll gone on Leopard. Oh well. Doesn't make sense to me either.

Opening animations in Quicktime or Safari is the alternative for now.
