Something other than Handbrake?

So I have a BluRay rip in an MPG format.. Whenever I load it into Handbrake, Handbrake crashes. Is there any other application I can use to convert it to MP4?

User MakeMKV then use Handbrake.

actually both quicktime and vlc are able to convert videos, they could get you to a file that wont crash handbrake 🙂

Tried that, ended up with terrible quality.

odd, I've never had any problems with it.
