Sometimes I have to push the Touch ID button instead of resting the finger (iMac M1). Does it happen only to me? It happens after the Mac went to sleep, but only sometimes. It' a software problem for sure, just wondering if there's a fix

Had it happen on my M1 iMac last week. It's only happened once (so far) in several months of ownership. Rebooted and it resolved. Not sure whether it was one of those 'once a year' type problems or not. As you stated, it should be fixable with an update if the problem is addressed.

It happens more frequently to me. Once every few days. Can't remember if it started with Monterey or not

I can't state conclusively that it started with Monterey, but I can state that I've had an iMac 24 since it was released in May and I never saw the issue with Big Sur.

Me since late august. I think yeah it may have started with Monterey, never happened months ago

Definitely happening with my M1 running Monterey. I can't say I saw it with Big Sur though.

Thought I'd bump this thread. Does anyone else have issues where Touch ID doesn't work on the numeric keyboard? Every so often, Touch ID isn't an option and when I go to the settings, it still has my fingerprint set up. I have rebooted the machine and it didn't work. I usually end up having to remove the keyboard and add it back. I'm on 12.5.1 and it just happened yesterday.

Personally, no. Some software update must have fixed my issue and I luckily didn't experience any other. Never unpaired my keyboard either
