Wow, that's some logic there. It's the exact same problem you say except that his problem was multiple accounts where only one was authorized and yours is nothing to do with multiple accounts.

Whatever. Anyway, your problem has been fixed by reinstalling QT (exactly the same 'eh!) and I'm happy for you.

the problem was not fixed by just reinstalling quicktime, i reinstalled qt 5 times prior to it working, the problem lied with more then that! the steps i posted worked on numerouse people with same problem, this has nothing to do with numerouse accounts!! i have numerouse accoutns and have moved and changed screen names numerouse times! Still having problems

I need help because Apple is not assisting or responding. I have the same problem mentioned above - authorization loop. Although I can pinpoint my problem DIRECTLY to Itunes 7.x upgrade. The day I upgraded (Sept 16th I believe) my purchased Itunes files stopped working. I asked for tech support and received very little, slow, email support. Extremely frustrating.
I too have over 300 songs (all my favorties that I purchase to support the artists) and none of my music would play. I made the mistake of synching my ipods same night I first installed I tunes so I could not play the music there either.
I finally uninstalled itunes and went to Itunes 6.X and everythign worked again. I resynched ipods and got all my music back.
Then I got brave... I reinstalled Itunes 7.x and of course everything stopped working. I have not resynched my ipods so I can at least play my favorite songs on my ipod.
I have so far: repaired permissions, checked for shared folders, uninstalled QT and reinstalled - none of that worked. I followed all the instructions laid out prior to reinstall QT, nothing. Can someone help? I have one other issue that I looked up but cannot find reference to. I don't know if it is connected but of course only have this problem in Itunes 7.0.1. itunes error.jpg error message (-1407). I am having no issues with the network connection and once again this problem is only on Itunes 7.0.1 so I don't believe it would be a network setting. Is anyone else having this issue? Have you gotten it resolved?
Thanks in advance.

And also regarding the "authorization loop"

By the way... I have also had all my computers deauthorized by Apple tech support and i reauthorized my Mac. didn't work. I have been searching diligently on the web. Is anyone else having this issue?
I get the "authorization successful" message and then it doesn't playand asks me to authorize again... and so forth and so on. Endless loop. Lovely.

Also just tried

I thought that my problem might be related to Quicktime as quicktime videos were not playing in Safari. From web-searching I discovered a known problem http://www.macfixitforums.com/showf...67662&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&fpart=1
Here was the fix for the quicktime not working:
Since the problem affects all those browsers, and
since you've done so much reinstalling... I wonder
if deleting some user files they share would help:

this folder:
~/Library/Caches/QuickTime

and these files:
~/Library/Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

Move them to the trash.
(note ~ is the path to your Home)
In combination with this:
Open your HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder.
Drag the one with VLC in its name to your Desktop (so you can put it back if you want).
Quit and relaunch your browser and try the page again.
After doing this quicktime worked! Itunes STILL DOES NOT! Please, Help me somebody, PLEASE!!! (wimper, wimper, defeat, defeat, defeat)

More information

I can preview music from itunes store ( that one is confusing), I can download and play podcasts (including video), I can download album covers for regular mp3 files, I can play regular mp3 files BUT I cannot play music (protected AAC files) that I already purchased and I cannot download new music! I just keep on getting the authorization loop! I am going to bed now.

Wtf!

Rojo talks about only some of his songs not playing. He mentions chaging his e-mail address. After I point Rojo at some thread about multiple accounts in iTMS he replies with this.

Rojo said:
Thanks.
Yes, I guess it's my account name (which is my e-mail address).
I'm still confused to why there's a problem NOW, 2 1/2 years after the fact -- but I guess that's a 7.0.1 issue?

To which I replied

Because iTunes 7 triggers a re-authorize for most (all?) of us.

I suspect all you need to do is authorize both accounts but you've only done that for one of them.

The very next post is Rojo who says

Yep, back home and have authorized the non-working songs using my old account. All my songs play now... whew!

Case closed.

Well.... He clearly is someone who needs the last word! You should read the ORIGIONAL thread devman!

Re:

Ladies and Gents.. if you wanna get files to play that are not authorized, go to the Store menu in itunes and click on Authorize computer. Then your songs and videos will be able to play and sync in itunes. Worked for me...

Hope this helps.
