I have a Sonnet Thunderbolt-ExpressCard/34 adapter and 2-port eSATA ExpressCard/34 to connect to a 5-bay Burly eSATA Port Multiplier enclosure. To use the ExpressCard|34 I had to download the Sonnet driver software for it.

Today while running some Adobe software the system kind of shutdown, screen went black. I pressed spacebar and the lock screen login pane displayed. I logged in and everything seemed just fine.

I decided to scan the system.log for some clues as to what may have caused this. Here's what I found that corresponds pretty close to the time of the event described above.

Does anyone know if these are fatal or warning errors?

There was no i/o to/from the Burly going on at the time. It was possible that mrs/Spotlight was indexing the Burly drives... but dunno for sure.

Should this be reported to Sonnet ?

Thanks in advance for any insights. :)

Thunderbold & Mac Pro 6,1 shutdown

Don't know about reporting to Sonnett, but I had something similar happen. Using old Mac Pro (1,1) as target disk over firewire-thunderbolt adapter. While getting nMP up and running, was using oMP as hard drive with music files. At one point while accessing, screen went black/shutdown as you described. Could not get it to start back up, but after a few minutes nMP started up on its' own accord.

Yesterday however, I again turned on target mode of the oMP, and immediately after the drive icons appeared on the desktop, the nMP shut down as before. Only this time, it will not power up again.

I did call Apple, and fairly quickly reached a Sr. Adviser, who said that Apple was aware of the problem and was researching field reports. At the moment I have a brick and not sure what to do with it. If it is a design problem, taking it back for exchange is not a sure fix.
