Sonos has kicked off its Father's Day sale, offering discounts on home audio equipment through the middle of June. This includes discounts on the Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar, Ace headphones, and more.

This sale includes Sonos product bundles that should help elevate your home theater setup with various soundbars, subwoofers, and speakers. There are also a few products available outside of a bundle, including the Sonos Arc Ultra for $899 ($100 off), Sonos Ace headphones for $329 ($120 off), and Era 100 Smart Speaker for $179 ($20 off).

Sonos very rarely offers discounts this steep on its website, so it'll likely be quite a long time before these deals return after this sale ends later in June. We've accumulated a few of the devices in the sale below, but be sure to browse this landing page on the Sonos website for everything being discounted.

These are really good prices - I just have my TVs connect to stereo HomePODs which do the trick, albeit without the subwoofer really, but otherwise they sound really good. I really also want to try the ERA 300s.

I have several SONOS products mixed in with my Apple HomePODs, and couldn't be happier with them. I know their app was a mess, but I use Airplay 2 for almost everything.

My only issue is Overcast has MAJOR Airplay bugs and Marco is too busy with his restaurant, and mad at Apple to fix them. But this has nothing to do with Sonos/HomePODs.

Same boat. I’ve had the Sonos setup before with the beam, sub and 2 rear Sonos ones. Great sound but dang it was expensive. I went back to the 2 HomePods and the sound isn’t terrible but it doesn’t compete with Sonos. I do wish they would allow the minis to serve as rear satellites and find a way to add a HomePod as a center Chanel to give us a better setup. Not sure how to add that sub bass though.

I used to love Sonos, but their software and overall system reliability has driven me to fully immerse myself in the superior HomePods experience. Pretty much every other week Sonos are emailing me hefty discount offers. They never used to do that.

Great offers though for those who still love their Sonos setups and want to expand.
There is nothing superior about HomePods for a theater, IMO. At best you get some decent stereo if you can get the dual HomePods to actually work. (It was 50/50 shot for me.) I switched to Sonos and I have a beautiful 5.1 real surround sound that absolutely dwarfs my HomePod experience. I have also not been in the group that had Sonos app issues.

When the Sonos app starts getting halfway decent reviews, I'll consider buying from them. Go to the App Store. Their overall rating is 4.7, but if you look at the 10 latest reviews, 9 of them will be ones with stories about their systems being ruined.

Actually the app the last few updates has had some major improvements. When I open the app it is only a couple of seconds and adjusting sound is near instant. Way better than even a year ago.

That's actually really nice to hear. However, I'm not going to risk it until the posted reviews start turning the corner to something positive.

Apple should have bought Sonos when they had the chance. Would have been the best of both worlds.

Sonos ERA 300 is also down to $360 across the board, I am assuming there's a gen 2 coming soon. I decided to try one out, I heard their ecosystem is great.
Where did you hear such thing? It’s overpriced and underwhelming. And lately it’s been widely criticised for its software issues to the point the CEO had to resign.

Sonos is a VERY low bar, but the ‘HomePod experience’ is the one option that does NOT manage to do better. HomePods do not offer 5.1 and have the same issues in terms of low quality/price and closed ecosystem.

Sonos speakers all have similar restrictions as homepods. And neither produce sound as intended. An amp and speakers, 1/3 of the price, no audio delay, no wireless frustrations, and far better sound.

And who can forget....?

I bought my first Sonos product last autumn in the Arc Ultra and it has been excellent. It’s the only speaker I have for my TV at the moment but it blows every other soundbar I’ve ever tried out of the water. I’ve never owned a speaker this nice. Spatial Audio sounds amazing on it too. I don’t even feel like I need to upgrade it with anything else. App works fine with it, probably because it’s newer, but honestly I don’t even find myself needing to use the app that much?

Haha. Reads like fake news. The 'everything was amazing' angle, nah. Fill in some negatives about the speaker, or some details, or better still regale with previous 'every other soundbar' experiences.

I thought father’s day presents should provide fun? Software is still not the quality it was before. HomePods are an affordable and qualitative alternative.

We are Sonos users, from long ago. The S2 app is now usable. The prices are high, and significant sales usually precede model updates. This time, though, I think Sonos sales are suffering enough due to the software backlash, that they are trying to garner attention again. There are lots of competitors now, even in the consumer multi room audio space.

You can use the Sonos app to set up your system, and keep it updated. My wife rarely uses the Sonos app, but rather uses Spotify to play directly to the unit(s) she want.

We are in a new home. If 1) we did not already own several Sonos units and 2) my wife does not handle software change well, I would probably have looked elsewhere.

If I had the cash to burn I’d swap both my Arc’s for the new Ultras.

My dad did, he said it was a noticeable upgrade.

Very happy Sonos user here.
