Sonos plans to raise prices for some of its products later this year because of tariff costs, the company said in its third fiscal quarter earnings presentation [PDF].

Sonos manufactures its devices in Vietnam and Malaysia, and the countries are facing tariffs of 20 percent and 19 percent, respectively. In the third fiscal quarter, tariffs cost Sonos $2.1 million, and the company estimated that costs would increase to $5 million in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2025. Sonos said that the estimate for 4Q 2025 reflects the prior 10 percent tariff rate on in-transit inventory that will arrive during the quarter, and future quarters "may differ."

To minimize the impact of tariffs, Sonos says that it will raise prices across its portfolio of products. Sonos also plans to invest in diversifying its geographic footprint to drive growth in the future.

Sonos did not outline which products will see price hikes, but said that the increases will come later in 2025.

I like Sonos stuff. But man it’s expensive. I got rid of the full surround system and bought $400 worth of HomePods. Doesn’t it sound the same, nope! But I was able to double pay my mortgage the month I sold the sub, the arc and the Ones rear channels. But that Sonos set up was pretty awesome!

Great. Rich executives need to stop making money off of cheap labor in other countries.
Those rich executives will keep making more and more money year after year, because that's how capitalism is setup. Whether it's tariffs or higher labor costs, it'll ALWAYS be passed onto the consumer - unless you're Don Vultaggio of the Arizona Beverage Company.

No, that's just not true. Capitalism's main tenet is that both sides of any transaction in a capitalist system perceive that they will benefit from the transaction. And so Capitalism is completely at-will.
I've never met a sonos user who didn't have a ton of issues getting it to work consistently. Also never met a sonos user who was able to share control with friends who wanted to play audio from their device.
...
You must not know many Sonos users then
You're right, he doesn't. I love my Sonos system, and I have not had any trouble with it.
What is all that banging???

Oh, the final nail in the coffin!
Bye Sonos!
Yeah, not likely.

Everybody says something is dead, but on and on it continues to go. I'm thinking of buying a Sonos soundbar and another speaker for the master bedroom. And a price increase won't stop me. Oh sure, I might buy sooner rather than wait for the increase to take effect. But if I miss it, I'll pay the increase whenever I am ready to buy.

Sonos CEO ‘leaves’ after awful app and now this. Sonos isn’t good and/or big enough to pull this off as their stuff was already overpriced anyway.
The particulars of Sonos are irrelevant. This is going to happen across the board, especially with smaller or less solid companies who can't absorb tariffs without raising prices.

No need to get upset over it. It’s just a sound system. Glad you’re happy with it. I just don’t see the benefits whenever someone’s tried to show me there’s 🤷‍♂️
