How's the battery life on your HomePod Mini?
Also...Airplay from my MBP to my HP Mini is terrible! Would much prefer bluetooth. Every time I want to play music from my laptop, I have to "hey siri play music" to get it to start playing from my library, then find what I actually want to listen to on my Mac, THEN Airplay. Any other way and it never connects.

With wireless charging available, it sounds like we finally have the smart home speaker that you can grab on your way out the door that we have been asking for for years now! I probably won't spring for one due to cost, but this facilitates a very cool use case!
out of apple's playbook....no charger block included!

Pre-ordered. First Sonos purchase. Decent feature set for the price.
The Sonos Move was my first entry into the Sonos ecosystem. Since then I’ve picked up an Arc/Sub combo and preordered the Roam. I’ll be adding another Arc/Sub combination for the bedroom when the sales hit.

Sonos plays great with my other airplay products and there isn’t a better audio product on the market that blends sound quality, ease of use and product quality. I’m bought in heavily.

If anyone is interested I can highly recommend the Marshall Stockwell II, a superb little Bluetooth speaker. Great battery life and the sound quality always impresses me. Much better than the JBL and UE speakers I have heard.

Would be interesting to listen to this as compared to my small Sony SRS series speaker. The bang for buck that device has provided for me has been hard to beat. I actually stopped traveling with wither homepod as the portability of this style device is desirable for some of the uses I have.

Yet another cheap speaker with poor quality sound. A whole generation of kids will grow up listening to these crappy speakers. I hope they get the chance to upgrade in later life and experience the joy of listening to good quality sound.

Will look into this one, can’t wait for some reviews.

I bought Onyx 4 few weeks ago and that thing blows my mind at how good it is.
Yeah, the Onyx has always been one of the best for the price. For as tiny as this thing is, I can't imagine sound quality anywhere near what the Onyx does (especially bass).

This is a big PASS for me. Too small, too expensive, and if you leave your home's SONOS-sphere and go outside, what does this do that a regular (and cheaper and better) BT speaker does?

That's not bad at all but still cant beat the price of HomePod Mini.
HomePod Mini is not:
Water resistant,
Is NOT fully portable (has an internal battery).

Major mistake from Apple.

I was reading this news and looking at Jabra Charge4 or the Jabra Flip 4/5 and although those are portable ... they ..

only have a IPX7 rating (no dust)
Have NO AirPlay support

but they dohave 6 & 12hrs playback respectively.

This looks great! I hope it supports WiFi direct for AirPlay. The nice thing about AirPlay is that it is lossless, unlike Bluetooth which recompresses the music as part of the protocol. AirPlay will almost always sound better than Bluetooth.

But without WiFi direct, you can't use AirPlay when away from your home WiFi network. WiFi direct allows you to stream directly to the speaker anywhere.
Are there any non-Apple options out there currently that support AirPlay via WiFi direct?
