    Hey guys,

Here's the deal: I decided to get some iPod stuff for my brother and sister for Xmas (they're getting 30gb 5G's). Since Apple isn't packaging these with the AC wall adaptor I decided to get them chargers. However, I didn't want to pay 30 or 40 bucks for them so I bought them Sony AC-U50A USB chargers. These are meant for Sony mp3 players, but the specs are about the same. I will post them now:

    input: 100-240V 50/60 mHz
    rated output voltage: 5V
    rated output current: 500 mA

Now, everything's just about the same as the Apple iPod charger, except that it's rated output current is 1.0 A...does anyone foresee a problem with these chargers? They are less than half the price of the Apple version.

    Low power

I think that this just may mean it will be longer to charge - it may also not drive it as the power rating 500mA is only half. I have a similar adaptor and it is rated 1.0 A 5v so hopefully will do the trick.
