I've like every iteration of sony phones that they put out the last two years. From the build quality to their flavored android skin. Those damn viewing angles are always a deal breaker however. I'm hoping next year they finally get it right.

Agreed. For a company associated with displays (TV's) why they can't seem to get the display spot in in their flagship device is shocking.

Heck the VITA had a 5" OLED screen, how come we haven't seen a killer Sony Smartphone with similar screen technology ?

It's very strange. Even the new Vita with the regular LCD (despite a good one) is a mistake. Vita games look amazing on that original OLED screen. Whoever is in charge with SONY displays need to be fired.

I'm seriously thinking of getting either the Sony Xperia Z1 (when they release the US version) or the HTC One. I keep hearing about the bad viewing angles on the screen. I saw some youtube videos and while I know it's not the greatest test (Can't seem to find any stores that carry this model), it didn't seem THAT bad.

I don't mind if the screen loses some contrast and color on extreme viewing angles, but want to know from people who actually have the phone, is it really that bad?
