What about Xbox 360 RROD in 30% of units or how the drive like to scratch discs.
Yes, but when that happened to mine, even out of warranty, Microsoft repaired my unit free of charge. It was three and a bit years old. While the problem surfacing was annoying, the extra warranty they provided, and for me the willingness to repair it even outside that warranty, made the problem itself, not a problem at all.
Quality service when a customer encounters a problem will always, for me, completely change the problem itself. Either blow it all out of proportion and make it an 'end of the world' issue if I'm treated poorly. Or make it an insignificant speck in time and something that's not a hassle at all if I'm treated well.
Customer service is king.
I've had brilliant service from Apple when I've had problems with my iPod/iPhone/MacBook Pro at the Genius Bar. And good, but nowhere near as fast or convenient, from Microsoft for problems with my XBox 360.
