(Most) VAIOs are kind of like Macbooks with Windows instead of OSX. As I understand it, they are even bought mostly for the same reasons. Only VAIOs are even more of a rip-off, because they typically have worse reliability because they aren't put together as well.
That being said, I know very little about the VAIO desktops.

Do you have a shred of information to back this up?

Just to put it into perspective, the screen is like 6400 * 3000 on a 24" display. Not only that, but it's ridiculously expensive, a Macbook costs less. Sure it's much bigger, but at least I can use it. In fact you can pick up a rev a Air for the same price.

Give it 1280 x 640, XP and drop the price to £399 and it might go down a little better.

Im still waiting for links to these so-called quotes you put in the first post.

Post #29 has a link to one.
The idea of a compact netbook with 3G connectivity is intriguing. Add in Sony's slick styling and it is even harder to resist. Yet as a real computing device, the Vaio VGN-P19WN/Q Series is a failure.

PC Format
Not to put too fine a point on it, this eight-inch, Atom-based netbook is junk.
