Applev TV 2 would need an hdmi converter. They're a bit pricey. The original Apple TV would work fine.

The original ATV would only work if:-

a. The Sony Trinitron TV has a component input (red/green/blue phono sockets)
or
b. You hack the ATV so it will output a composite signal (yellow phono socket)

Thanks for the input, no pun intended.

Well the television has both S video and single yellow composite. So I guess this is not ideal and my best bet would be to upgrade my television. I'm waiting for the next generation apple tv anyway so time is on my side to upgrade my tv.

It's time to bury EDTV. You'll notice quite an upgrade in picture quality going from your old TV to an HDTV.
