Can't imagine anyone switching from Pro Tools to this though.
Anything that moves people from Windows to OS X is a good thing

Been waiting 15 years for Sony to do this, Sound Forge is great on the PC, its one of the last great audio jewels windows users had. Dont understand why people are comparing Pro Tools or Logic to an audio editor though. Peak and Audacity are better comparisons.

Although sound studio is nice, nothing compares to the simple elegance of SoundEdit16 back on OS9 and earlier. I even used it with rosetta until I revised my workflow into soundstudio.

If I didn't use and adore Logic, I'd be using Pro Tools much more, probably even exclusively. I don't know why people would use this Sony DAW when PT (and even Cubase to an extent) exist and are much more commonplace throughout the audio industry.
What records do you know of made in Sony software? Not that that discredits the software in any way, it's probably very good. Just a musing I may have to Google to find out.
Please Sony, let Vegas be next!
Wish they would announce FL Studio for Mac
I can't see myself needing to switch from TwistedWave, which I think is worth the $80. It could use a noise reduction function, though.

Sound Forge is a 2-track audio editor. The video seems to imply multi-track recording.

I used the heck out of SF in my PC days. It is a very capable audio editor. It's sister app, CD Architect, was my weapon of choice for building CDs (masters and dj mixes). I would welcome Sound Forge immediately if it were coming.
Again, 2 totally different things. This is not to "create records". Most of the users don't even use the multi-track function. This is for audio editing, straight. And the best tool at it. If you have not used it it's hard to explain what it is. But go with my word, it is the best.
You can compare it to Audacity, Audition (former WaveLab).
