can you actually play games on 64bit? I have always thought that you couldn't
2408? For a gaming rig the 27xx would probably have been a better bet if you wanted to stick to 1920. I find it makes things more immersive.
I'm in the process of changing out the GTX 280's for GTX 295's on my H2C. I'm holding off ordering the i7 730 H2C until the cards get updated.
Haven't come across a major problem so far. Been running 64-bit for gaming for quite a while.
There's just point in buying into a lower quality display... wait, I didn't mean how it sounds. I'm just thinking, bigger screen, same resolution
means bigger pixels/transistors. You're welcome to go with the 27xx but i'm sticking with my 2408.
Has a slight hardware revision folks.
1x DFI Lan Party LP UT X58-T3EH8 Intel X58
not to say anything bad about the setup you are planning, but the last computer i built i used a DFI Lan Party motherboard, and 2 years later the board is just a paper weight. and i'm not the only one. after looking up everywhere on the internet, there were several people with the same problem, and no fix. totally dead.
so, everything sounds good, but i thought i would share my experience with those motherboards
... didn't some of you just assumed i'm using water-coolers are for the entire system??
No, I can't understand that.![]()
You don't need to use a water-cooler to cool every aspect of the system. Feel me?
CPU or GPU or both. Yeah...You don't need to use a water-cooler to cool every aspect of the system. Feel me?
I understand that. It was that jumbled collection of words that you posted above that confused me.![]()
It's alright, living dangerously is fun!
I'll probably upgrade next year anyway...
I guess you had one of the pre-Wu boards, cause since Oscar Wu (Bios Engineer) appeared on the scene lots has change with DFI. their board designs been revised, hardware tweaked and perhaps in some cases, components replace/changed?
After doing some googling and lots of reading, I've finally ordered the water blocks I require, plus some pipping, a sizeable reservoir, performance pump and various fixing and mounts... all this will be working with the true.
... didn't some of you just assumed i'm using water-coolers are for the entire system?? How short sighted![]()
that's fine. i just thought i'd share my experience, that's all. i'm sure you'll have success with the board that you buy.
nice. glad you're finally ordering some of these parts. i want to see this thing put together!
Yeah, building a system does have it's merits. Unfortunately building a Mac just isn't the same, perhaps it's due to the fact you can't tweak the Mac's performance and hardware options are pretty much locked down... I don't know... I just know getting bits of hardware to assemble is so much fun!!
This is my first semi-liquid cooled rig and there are many new challenges laying ahead. I just hope it doesn't spring a leak while i'm testing stuff! Could be expensive.![]()
I got a chance to take some hands on time with the Cosmos 1000 in person at Fry's. I'm definitely going to have to pick one up for my next build. I'm in love at $99.
I was surprised at $99. I might have misread it though.Whoa, what? Cosmos 1000 for $99? Aren't they normally double that?
That case looks amazing. I really want one when I do my HT/Gaming rig sometime in the future. (if I don't spend all that money on a Mac Pro first)

Once again you prove that games are GPU bound.
