I've watched SOA for several years; each year I grew less and less interested in gratuitous violence. I'm certainly not against a good murder, but SOA is a bit over the top. I watched the show Tuesday evening and decided that's it for me.

I'm feeling about the same way. It's not so much that it's too over the top as much as it's starting to feel a little tired and forced by this point. It still has it's moments, but nothing I've seen since season 3 on has gripped me quite like those first two.

I'd say that total cop out, almost but not quite deus ex machina twist with the cartel in season 4 marked the point when I became "...meh" about SoA. The real shame about it was how excellently that whole scenario was built up beforehand. The writers could've done so many things the finale that would've taken the show off in new and interesting directions, but instead chickened out at literally the last second so they could maintain the status quo.
