Eh... im very... very.. doubtful about tommorow. Dont get me wrong though, im DYING for a new iMac.... but honestly theres been NO leaks ALL DAY.

If they are updated tomorrow morning, it will be for anywhere from 1-3 hours with specs/pricing on their site by 9AM EST. On July 27, 2011, the store was down from about 6:15 to 8:40 AM EST. Cinema Displays, Mac Pros, and the Magic Trackpad were also released during that time.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

Yep tomorrow.

Well- just goes to show how everbody picked up on the rumor. It's tues morning, just passed an Apple store in NYC and nobodies in there let alone changing the set-up

Which NYC store was it? Other than the Fifth Avenue one, most open at 9AM, and the online store won't go down until 4-7AM for updates.

They can probably get the new models placed in the store rather quickly (other than setting up software).

Doesn't necessarily mean anything. If they look the same (likely), swapping out the 2011s for the 2010s would be a very simple thing.

That said, the lack of leaked specs and blurry elevator shots is a little worrying. :D

I thought the online store went down at midnight which it didn't

Not necessarily true. And it's not midnight. At least not on the west coast where apple's headquarters is.

I expect the store to go down in the wee morning hours pacific time which around 5am or so if I remember right from past events.

Last iMac refresh (July 27, 2010) the store went down between 6:17AM EST and 8:40AM EST.

If you look back at nearly all of the iMac refreshes that didn't coincide with a media/press event, they were all released by 9AM EST/6AM PST - which goes in line with the opening of their East Coast stores.

Oh yes that's right! Midnight PST. I forgot that. guess I'll take out the trash and climb in bed for a few hours sleep and set my iPhone alarm for 4am EST

Behind the scenes work...

A lot of the prep work they have to do is in the back room of the store as well (such as opening new inventory crates and storing the new merchandise, making sure the pricing is right in the computers, etc). Since Apple doesn't fill a majority of their employees in on new products until the launch date, all of the new merchandise is kept locked in crates with specific directions on what day they can be opened. A flagship store (like the one on 5th Ave in NYC) can be known to sell hundreds of computers daily (if not, more), so that's a lot of work to do in a single night. On a "visual night" all of this "behind the scenes" work is done first (usually between 12:00am - 4 or 5:00am) before all of the new products are placed on display for the customers can see and try out. After all this work is complete, they will probably replace the display iMacs one by one.

If we have to wait for your US time to catch up with ours in Europe, then I guess we will not see new imacs until tomorrow around here:(

Online Store

The Apple online store will probably go down sometime between 3 am and 5 am est. It will probably come back up sometime between 5 am and 8 am est.

I hope...

Whats the time est then? Here in Sweden its two hours left until the stores open.

7 more hours until most of the stores open on the East Coast. If online store doesn't go down by then, new iMacs aren't coming today.

I'm in Ireland, what time do you think the new iMacs will go live in our store it's 7am on Tuesday at the moment here
