Still at Purolator working night shift I haven't seen a single iMac being shipped anywhere.

Couldnt that also mean that _no_ iMacs are getting shipped (even to customers) because they ARE launching new ones today..

Dont apple normally ship in sealed black crates pre-launch to their stores?

it could be because the iPhone 4 white just launched only last week. Actually, I forgot to factor this variable in. Apple has a habit of keeping product launches in the lime light for at least 2 weeks time, which means next week would be a more proper time launch window for the iMac.

But there is still hope though...They could still bring the store down within the next couple of hours and promote the iMac in one of the smaller windows at the bottom of the front page. But unless it's next week, I don't see Apple replacing the white iPhone 4 with the iMac on the front page.

Thats a good point - I cant remember the last time apple launched two products soo close..

(someone please find some examples so we can still expect a launch today)

I'm wondering the new version of MobileMe that will become free version hopefully, cause mine is going to expire really soon. =P

It's just a new design..

I surely hope Apple will not, for the sake of extending the iPhone's spotlight, at the cost of the new iMacs. It would be insane to have the iMacs ready and just waiting a week or so for the stupid white iPhone to pass.

I agree that it is lame, but Apple seems to operate very meticulously in the planning and spacing of their product launch dates.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the iPhone 4, white or black, 10 months since release, is still selling at a faster rate than any iMac launch could and ever will do.

Unfortunately, Apple's priority: iOS devices >>> Macs. :(

Well we ship to futureshop and bestbuy, intact 2 of my trucks go there. I haven't seen anything that even hints at iMacs.

Apple.com > Mac > iMac > Buy Now > "We'll be back soon." Go, now, check, obsess, I don't want to be alone here.

Here's to hoping...!

Going to be interesting to see what happens with this update. I was thinking of getting a new one around September which would be mid cycle. So I may end up tempted to get one early or decide to wait until the next update instead depending on the specs / prices / new features.

Does anyone know what the situation has been in the UK when previous updates have happened? As far as I can see the UK apple store hasn't gone down yet. And if it does, will they be available in apple stores today?

store.apple.com/uk is also down.

The Uk store is down and has been for about 15 mins....

What kind of refresh

While everyone is waiting - has it been confirmed whether this is a spec refresh or both a spec and aesthetics refresh?

I'd expect the same design (mainly because I'd expect them to launch a new one at an event and that might line up nicely with the official Lion launch. Also the MBP's just got a spec bump with no new design and it'd be odd for Apple to start a change in their design language when the next MBP refresh is so far away) but the following spec change:

Definite: Sandy Bridge processors, Thunderbolt
Hopefully: Upgraded graphics cards, reduced prices for SSD drives
Would be nice: HDMI input (please!), small SSD as standard with Z68 chipset
REALLY unlikely: Retina dispalys (ridiculously small possibility)

Just killing time - any chance (any reasonable chance) (anybody think its likely that) another product being updated alongside the iMac or would that have been leaked last week as well?

unlikely - but the mac mini could also see a refresh, mac pro too (very very unlikely).

if the apple tv gets updated to A5 I'd get one today..
