Anyone else or is it just me? I’m used to the rounded bottom edge of the 11 pro and the square edge of the 13 pro leather case makes my pinky which goes on the bottom hurt after using the iPhone 13 pro in my hand.

I have it for the 13 and the cutouts are bit sharper than I was expecting.

Also, coming from the 11, the squared off sides are less comfortable to hold, IMO. Caseless is a lot easier with the new design, though!

I don't have my 13 Pro Max yet, but I have the 12 Pro Max, and I had a really hard time finding a case that didn't hurt my pinky. All of my previous usual suspects failed the test. For me, only three cases that I tested passed the test: The Apple silicone case because the material is soft; the Totallee Clear (Soft) because the material wraps around the bottom, making the hole for the charger smaller, but reducing the sharpness that larger openings have; and the Apple leather case because the leather softens as time goes by.

Sorry, couldn't resist! :p

13 Pro Max with Midnight leather. I know what you’re talking about and it is the sharp cutouts that dig into the pinky. It is annoying. I am going to find a way to sand those edges down so they are not as sharp. Maybe a Dremel would work?

yeah those of us coming from the rounded era will have to make an adjustment. I honestly got used to the bottom being open on my xs max but in theory the bottom being covered is much better for protection

I was initially having this problem with the dark cherry case on my 13PM. I put some leather conditioner on the case and really massaged it into the bottom. Since then, the cutouts feel like they’ve given a bit and are no longer as sharp, so my pinkie support technique isn’t as uncomfortable. YMMV

Honestly it’s just bad putting weight on the pinky at all. I had nerve and joint pain that started with using the 11 Pro that way and shot into the stratosphere with the 12 Pro that I sent back. My 12 Pro Max helped me break that habit and now I don’t do it when I hold the 13 Pro.

I started to burnish the cutout edges with my finger/fingernail gently and it has seemed to help.

That is one of the reasons why I found a rounded edge leather case from Bandwerk…
